Picture This!

First of all I want to start out by saying that staying home with Rylan has been the greatest blessing I could ever ask for. When people often ask if I am still working I proudly say "No, I am a stay at home momma, and I LOVE MY JOB"! Rylan is adventurous, brave, funny, happy, energetic, strong, and sweet. He is always giving Tyson and I a good laugh at the end of a long day. Thanks to Tyson who works so hard for our family, without him and his support I wouldn't be able to stay home with our sweet boy.

With that said, Momma still needs to find a sense of accomplishment besides cleaning, diaper changing, and grocery shopping. So, I have started working on craft projects. I do scrapbooking, photo books, and now picture frames.

I began this when I decided I wanted to make something for our niece Sophia (who is due very soon!) for her room. Her room is decorated in pink, dark browns and cream. So, I used the nursery colors for inspiration and created a picture frame that is specifically made for Ms. Sophia. After I made hers I thought I am really enjoying this, I think I will make more. Well, it just so happens that our friends Matt & Kim just had a little girl, so I decided to make one for her as well! Then my friend Allison was coming to see us and I wanted to make her a frame just to tell her how special she is to me!

I am really enjoying my new venture in crafts. So far I have only made frames for little girls, but I would love to make one for a little boy. I do have the perfect person to make one for, my boy! So, when time permits I will make more. If anyone is interested in a frame for a friend, family member or yourself let me know. I can customize colors, stenciling (to an extent) and whatever else you would like. Please let me know if I can create something for you.

Ms. Brailynn's frame: cream, sherbert pink, and granny smith green. I also made hers to hang on the wall.
Mrs. Brendel's: Black with cream paint, bird ribbon to match and a little bling!

Ms. Sophia's: Pink, dark brown, and cream with blooming flowers in light and dark pink.

Hail to the Chief

Rylan and I are so proud to announce that Tyson has been elected to be chief resident. Beginning his first year of residency I was told by the program coordinator that "Big things were expected of Tyson". Well, I guess perhaps he meant chief. Being a chief resident requires extra hours, organization, hard work, compassion, and dedication to the program. We love the program and where we are, God has put us here for a reason. Due to all the of the responsibilities that come with chief it is a job that takes two residents. Tyson will be working along side Dr. Sabrina Solomon for his 3rd year at Christus Santa Rosa. She is a great friend to Tyson and she and him will be a great team. I have given her permission to tell him what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.

Rylan and I know that his Daddy will be a great chief. We love you Tyson and the great man that you are!

Spring is in Bloom!

We have had the best weather lately. So good that we even wore shorts this week. It has been in the high 60's to 80's. We have had a cold winter (relatively speaking for San Antonio) and we are enjoying that thing called SUN! We have been able to venture out and do things outside. Now that Rylan is getting bigger he enjoys all that nature has to offer. Yes, I mean everything, grass, dirt, leaves, and sticks, all go into the mouth. We have been able to go to the park, the nursery for flowers and play outside almost everyday. Spring is in bloom and we are loving it.

We went to Landa Park in New Braunfels and had our first family picnic, and Rylan got to swing for the first time. When did my baby get so big that he can swing? We went to another park here in San Antonio where we road the train, fed ducks and yes we got to swing again.

Finally the weather we have been waiting for. We better enjoy it before it gets too hot. Because as you all knew here in San Antonio it heats up rather quickly. However, we are going to begin swimming classes so maybe that will cool us down!
When I figure out this blog thing a little better, maybe I can post more pictures. As of right now, it takes me a while to figure out all of the details. Til next time..........

The Beginning

Okay, so we are going to give this blog thing a whirl. Savannah has talked about it and finally did, so now it is my turn. My only hopes are that 1. I remember I have a blog 2. We are interesting enough for you all to follow, and 3. That I may include things besides just Rylan!
However, since this is the beginning of our blogging we will include a picture of the Rylanator.

Hope all is well with you all and we look forward to this new way of keeping in touch!
