Busted

Just a busy, busy boy! While I was cooking Rylan opened up the child proof cabinets that his Daddy did.
He climbed right in.
That is right little man you are busted. Does this face appear to care that he got caught? NO, just surprised.
However, he didn't care at all that Mommy was watching. He even continued to climb onto the top shelf. Yes my friends, I got a great laugh out of this!

MOPS Clipboard

A dear friend talked me into making a clipboard for one of our MOPS meetings. She is encouraging, and sweet about my little craft projects.  At every meeting we all get a ticket, and then if our ticket is drawn we get a door prize. So my clipboard was given as a door prize. This particular clipboard was fun because I got to be completely creative, and use whatever colors and patterns I liked. I knew that I was making it for a Momma so I still added a few girly details.
I decided to go with brown, white and blue. I rarely get to do boy colors, so I went with it. Plus I loved the paper I found.
I just love this bible verse.
I think it is so fitting for a beautiful little girl, momma, grandmother, and just all woman.
To add a more feminine flair, I added blue and brown flowers, and ribbon over the clip.
I added a folder onto the back of the clipboard. Inside the folder is a 12 month calendar. However, you could add whatever you would like.
To keep the folder closed I added blue ribbon to the front and the back of the clipboard. On the back of the folder I personalized it for any Momma. Since MOPS is full of Mom's I thought it would be fitting. I was nervous to show my creation. But, my dear friend was right. Everybody loved it, and I even got a request to make some more!

Pumpkin Carving

Ever since Tyson and I got married we have always carved a pumpkin. This year we decided that the
Rylan-ator may like helping.  We all got messy but it was a family event, including Duncan and Winston who helped with clean up.
We took off the tops and Rylan dug right in.
When Mommy & Daddy began to use the sharp tools Rylan continued to play with the seeds. He would stand on the seeds and stuffing, and make himself slip on them.
As parents we were scared he may land on his face. However, this smile tells you that that wasn't even entering Rylan's sweet little brain. He was having too much fun!
In the end he did end up with pumpkin on his face and all over his clothes. So we did what we always do, just hose him down with the waterhose. The child loves the waterhose.
We ended up making a spur to support our San Antonio Spurs, and a silly face. I forgot to take pictures of the final product.

Happy Birthday Tyson

On Sunday my sweet husband turned 29! Tyson isn't the type to make a big deal about birthday's. But I love birthday's and think that it is a day to celebrate. I believe that you should blow out at least one candle, and have at least one gift to unwrap. Since his birthday fell on a weekend, we took the whole weekend to celebrate. Rylan and I started planning on Friday. We made Daddy a red, black, and white cake, for the Red Raiders. Rylan loved it because he got to enjoy the batter. There have been times in the past where his interest in sweets was not there. However, it has emerged. We made the cake and hid it. Little did Daddy know we were going to have a cake and decorations on Saturday night.

Friday evening we went to celebrate his birthday with our friends, Jesse, Melina, and Evan. The six of us went and had Mexican food, and then went over to their house to watch the Rangers Win! Then when we got home Tyson began smoking a brisket for Saturday night. He set his alarm through the night to go and check on it. It was so cute.

Rylan helping Mommy make Daddy's cake.
Daddy's Texas Tech cake, kind of. We all know that I am not much of a baker.
While Tyson and Rylan were napping on Saturday Mommy set out the cake and decorated with balloons. Tyson awoke to a surprise.
Saturday evening we had friends over; Jesse & Melina and their son Evan, Matt & Emily and their daughter Ella, Brad & Stephanie and their daughter Clara. We needed help eating the brisket that Tyson made. On a side note I will add that for his first brisket it was delicious. I am hopeful that he will make one again soon.

The birthday boy and his buddies before we sang Happy Birthday! None of the men folk were too happy when us ladies talked them into playing the Newlywed Game. Needless to say with 4 kids between the ages of 13 months and 23 months our game didn't last long. We had a great evening and we were so glad that we could celebrate with our friends.
On Sunday, Tyson's actual birthday we relaxed at home. We did find the energy to carve pumpkins, make a pizza, nap, watch football, open presents, and eat peanut butter pie. Daddy said all he wanted to do was stay home and hang with Rylan and I. Tyson, Happy Birthday my love.

My Pumpkin

Rylan got to help decorate his very own pumpkin this year. We went to a pumpkin patch with our MOPS group, and Rylan got to pick his own pumpkin. Then he got to choose a sticker face to put on it. He put his little hand in a basket full of sticker faces, and pulled out a vampire. This his pumpkin and it's face that he created!
After we put on the first sticker, he tried to pull it off.
The end result, after we put all the stickers bck on that he pulled off.
He was so excited about his pumpkin!

Pickin out Pumpkins

Last Saturday before the Texas Tech game came on, we loaded up and headed to get our family pumpkins. Yes, I know Rylan and I have already been to the pumpkin patch. However, we started a tradition last year that we would go as a family to pick out our pumpkins to carve. We went to a nearby nursery that always does an awesome Halloween display. We had success in finding great pumpkins, and I will soon share our carving experience with you all.
Can you tell that it is football season? Almost all of our pictures from Saturday's show Rylan in Red Raider gear.
Rylan found a kitty cat, and that was the focus for about 5 minutes.
The nursery decorated awesome.
This witch was my favorite part. Smoke would come out of her caldron, and she would shake her booty while chanting a spell. When we tried to get a photo Rylan wouldn't look at me, he just kept staring at her.
Daddy enjoying the maze as much as Rylan.
This was Rylan waiting on the Choo-Choo. That is all he kept saying "Choo-Choo!"
The train they had was very fun. We all three got to ride together, we were the caboose. The train went all around the nursery, we really enjoyed the dark tunnel that we went through.

LOVE Frame

My friend, Codie asked me to make a frame for her husbands grandparents. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and she wanted to give them something personal. Codie looked it up and the 60th anniversary is diamonds, so a theme was created. This frame was so fun, sparkles, Yay! I incorporated the white because I just thought of a wedding dress. I decided to do a black background because it made the silver and white pop. The paper at the top and bottom had lots of glitter. The ribbon was all white, silver, and sparkles. This frame was so fun to make.
We decided to include the most popular love phrase from the bible. 1 Corinthians 13:13.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love".
60 Years WOW! That is the type of love that God was talking about.
This is a look at the entire frame. Using the love theme was very sweet, and may we all get to celebrate 60 years with the one we love!

The Pumpkin Patch

I have to say that this is the coolest pumpkin patch I have ever been to. Not only did they have great pumpkins, but they also had lots of activities for the kids. We went with our MOPS group, so we met lots of other little friends there. This is my favorite time of the year!
They had a maze for the kids to go through. Rylan went in and began finding his way out.
At one point he stopped and looked at me like Momma come on.
This is my little man running through the maze. I can proudly say that he finished without any direction.
I had to get a picture of him at the finish of the maze.
One of my favorite pictures from the day. Also the only picture that he smiled in.
I was glad to at least get one in the pumpkins before he began chasing the dog. There was a black lab that Rylan was more interested in than the pumpkins.
There were two gentlemen who played guitar and sang kids songs. They had a giant tub of musical insturments for the kids to pick from. Rylan loved it because he could dance. That's his new thing, dancing all the time!
My sweet boy making sure I am watching him dance.
I was surprised that I actually captured this moment. I didn't even ask him, or try to have him pose like this.
Rylan's little pumpkin he picked out for himself!

Fall in Central Texas

Rylan and I went to a pumpkin patch this week. I will blog about that next. But for now I wanted to share with you some pictures that I think are beautiful. The pumpkin patch we went to was in Medina, Texas. We went early in the morning, and it was a perfect Fall day. Well as Fall as you can get in San Antonio in October. It was close to 90 degrees, but still beautiful. I have never been in this part of Texas. It was winding roads, large green pastures, rivers and creeks, large trees, God's beauty was abounding. I just thought that I would share some of the pictures I stopped to take on the way home.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." (Genesis 1:1, 31)

If you look closely you can see the deer in the background.

Back at the Shoe

We just made our last stop on the interview trail. Yes, you guessed it Muleshoe. We had a great flight, and thankfully all of our luggage, and carseat made it there, and back home. We kicked off the weekend with a jam packed Saturday.  We were so busy all day, so Nana and Papaw graciously volunteered to grandparent that day. I think that they both LOVED it! We started with breakfast at the hospital, tour of the upcoming developments, meeting with all of the hospital staff, lunch at Leal's with the board, and real estate looking.  We ended the day with a walk about progressive dinner. This was a unique experience that you can only do in a small town, because their streets are not very busy. We began at the Cages and had appetizers, the Locker's had salad, the Morton's had the entrees, and Cindy and Bruce had desserts. It must of been a site to see 30 people walking from house to house. It was a great evening filled with great company, and delicious food.

Sunday we went to church, Leal's, and then home to rest. We didn't rest long. Tyson and I got a tour from Mr. Sheets the superintendent of Muleshoe ISD. We visited the PK-2 school, and then the high school. It was very funny because Tyson didn't recognize half of his old stomping grounds. We also got to go out onto the beautiful new football field. Later in the afternoon Kolby, Kirby, Averi, Cade, and Bayli came to Bruce and Cindy's to visit. Then all of us loaded up and headed over to a classmate of Tyson's. Her and her husband hosted a young couples cookout in our honor. It was so FUN! We had the best time catching up, and enjoying old friends. It was so nice to be surrounded by all of our old friends, who just so happen to have children right around Rylan's age. These next two sentences will tell you how country we are. After the party Mommy was pooped so I took Rylan home. Daddy went with 3 of his classmates and went spotlighting. Yes you read it correctly, s-p-o-t-l-i-g-h-t-i-n-g. They had a great time.

On Monday, we met with the CEO again, we discussed our options, and completed our interview. Our flight was that afternoon. So, we had lunch with Nana and Papaw, and then loaded up. We made one last stop to visit Grandma and Ms. Molly at the nursing home. When we got to the airport e were exhausted.

We had a great weekend seeing family and friends. We know that God has a plan for us, we are just waiting for him to tell us what it is. When he tells us we will tall all of you!
Nana and Papaw dreaming of being so close to Rylan.
Rylan and Papaw playing together.
While Mommy and Daddy were busy on Saturday, Nana and Rylan decorated a pumpkin with stickers.
Lile, Tyson's babysitter growing up helped us with Rylan Saturday evening. He loved her and enjoyed hearing her sing in Spanish.
Mommy getting some loving from her sweet angel. As weird as it sounds I missed him on Saturday. Being a stay at home momma I am not used to being away from him that long.
Averi, Cade, Bayli, Kirby, Kolby, Rylan, Tyson and me. We love seeing our family, all we do is laugh.
Four very handsome boys, I may be partial.
