Beginning to Look Like Christmas

Just a short post.

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around the Purdy house. Sunday we spent the day listening to Christmas Carols and setting up all of our Christmas stuff. Rylan loved helping decorate the tree, while Reesey just slept. We are so excited for this Christmas, having two healthy, beautiful (we are biased) babies makes the holidays so special! This is the best picture we could get of the kiddos in front of our tree. Photo shoots have been interesting, hopefully we can come up with at least one good picture for our Christmas card.

Reese Lynn Purdy

On November 11, 2011 at 3:29 pm we were blessed with our healthy, beautiful, sweet Reese Lynn (named after her Tia) Purdy. She was 7lbs. 4oz. and 21 inches long. It was a great labor for Mommy, Daddy, and Reese. She came into this world with a calm, relaxing, complication free delivery. When she got here the first thing we noticed was her full head of hair. She has a lot of dark brown hair (like her Daddy did), blue eyes (like her big brother Rylan had), and she really does look like a girl version of Rylan. In our eyes she is perfect. I will let the pictures say the rest.
Little Sister Reese. It is still hard for Tyson and I to say the words, "kids or children". We are so blessed with two healthy babies.
Reesey Cup and Momma already having an intimate talk, girl talk.
After her bath the nursery workers let Daddy go in and get a good look at his sweet little angel. I think this picture is so sweet.
Rylan's first response to his baby sister was stand offish. But he came around and finally said, "I hold Reese?" Oh and when he did Daddy, Mommy, Tia and Granny just cried, it was a beautiful moment for our little family. I can't explain the pride I felt watching our son hold our daughter. At first Rylan just held her and studied her for along time, he was ever so gentle and sweet!
And then he couldn't stop laughing, I like to think this is him very excited to have his sister here.
This is our now family of four! Now is when this whole parenting journey really begins.
Our sweet girl! Reese you already bring such sweetness, beauty and joy into our home. God has truly blessed us!

A Shower for Reese

We are so blessed to have a family that thinks of us, supports us, and loves us enough to recognize every milestone in our life. Granny, Nana, & Tia threw Tyson and I shower for our little Reesey Cup. The main things that we needed were girl clothes, pink blankets, hair bows (I am told this is a must), and of course, diapers. We had a small shower with just family and a few friends here in Muleshoe at Nana & Papaw's. We were overwhelmed with how much our family provided for us and our little girl. Thank you to all of you for making our second baby just as exciting and special as our dear Rylan is to us.

There are a lot of pictures, and I will explain more about our shower through them.
This is my Granny, whom I adore. I was so happy she and my Papa came to celebrate our upcoming arrival with us.
Each hostess had a job; Tia - invitations (which were beautiful) and games (which were very cute and fun, even for the men folk who were at the shower), Nana - provided all the food and hosted at her house (which was delicious and perfect for so many people), Granny - who did all the decorations and worked in collaboration with Tia on the games.

My momma chose to do Fall themed decorations, which was perfect since it is fall and pumpkins are in abundance. She had pumpkins with pacifiers, and little punkins everywhere, along with some pumpkin pictures from our maternity shoot. It was really cute.
One of the many sweet gifts we got with Reese's name on it. I love embroidered gifts for babies, so sweet.
I love that Tys got to open such cute, sweet, frilly gifts for his daughter. He kept saying, "so this is what girl stuff is all about."
Little girl clothes are so different than boys' clothes. Most things are pink and frilly. When I did a load of laundry with all of Reese's stuff, the lent actually came out pink (just like Tia said it would).
Another example of the frills that girls come with. Too sweet!
I was so happy that the grandmothers and great grandmothers didn't forget about our boy. Rylan also had gifts to open at the shower. I loved this because I felt like it let him know that he is still very loved by everyone.
Tyson and I posing at the end of our shower. I am almost 38 weeks in this picture (like you can't tell).
Some of Reese's goodies!
More of Reese's goodies, she is one blessed little girl.
We played three games, and all three were perfect. They included the men and didn't make them do any girly stuff.  Good job Tia & Granny.
Granny, Nana, Me & Tia.
Thank you all three for making this shower perfect, you are all so special to us, and we are so grateful for the roles that you each play in our lives, and especially in our children's lives. We love ya'll and couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening.

Until the next post................which will hopefully be introducing you all to our little girl!

Maternity Shoot

We had the great privilege of having Madison Bamert do our maternity photo shoot for us. I didn't want to have them taken of just me, I wanted all 3 of us to be in them. This is after all a very important mile stone in our family. We will be expanding from our comfort zone of three to a whole new world of a fierce foursome. Madison did a great job! The shoot was fun, both of my boys did great and had a great attitude the whole time. She really did capture this time in our lives perfectly. There are so many good pictures it is going to take me a while to decide which ones are my favorite. I have to also say a special thank you to my dear sweet sister who provided my wardrobe, and she also did my hair (I love having her here)!
If you are close enough to use this photographer I highly recommend her. She is not only a great photographer but a good friend too.
     Hope you enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

This year Rylan chose wanted he wanted to be for Halloween. I asked him several times and every response I got was "A foootball payer". So a Texas Tech football player he was. This costume has already been worth the money we spent on it. He wears the helmet everyday, because yes Rylan plays football everyday (either with one of us or by himself). We have already worn the outfit three times and the jersey four times. It really was the perfect gift for our little football obsessed boy.
This is Ry all decked out in his uniform.
We met up with some friends and walked around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat. It was fun and so sweet to see all of the kids knocking on peoples doors as a big group. This was the first door Rylan knocked on as well as trick-or-treated at, ever. He would even whisper trick or treat to the people and then say thank you. It was so cute, especially when some of the kids said it in unison.
A glimpse at part of the group waiting on some candy.
Our little number 84 (Tyson's number in high school), trick-or-treating for the very first time.
He was so pleased and excited at all the candy he got. This smile says it all.
Hope you all had a safe, somewhat healthy, and happy Halloween!
