Rodeo

Since Rylan is such an animal lover we decided that he would probably love the Rodeo this year. So we put on our boots (which are so precious on Rylan) and we went to the Rodeo. It took forever to park, when I say forever I mean an hour. My sweet husband doesn't tolerate traffic very well (he should love the traffic in Muleshoe), so Rylan and I took off and started walking so that Daddy could vent by himself. After taking forever to find a place to park Daddy finally made it to the gate. Once we got in Rylan of course loved it, just as anticipated. The only difficulty was trying to get our little man to hold our hands. At about 18 months hand holding became a challenge. Rylan seems to love his new found freedom of running a little too much.
A lot of the animals were already loaded up by the time we got there, but the pigs were not. This is Rylan's favorite animal right now, so it ended up being perfect. He got to touch a few of them, which he didn't really care for, but he loved looking at them, pointing, and saying "Piggy"! The one thing that he seemed to love most about them was watching the kids wash their pigs in the barn. Another favorite of Rylan's right now is tractors, most trucks are tractors. So the pictures below show you our favorites at the Rodeo; the "piggy's", and the "twactors". You would think we already live in Muleshoe with the country things that our son loves.
Trying to get as close as he can to the cows. They were our first thing to see.
This was how Rylan would stand and watch the "piggy's". He would point and then look at us and laugh!
Tractor's that we could sit in. The boys stayed there for about 10 minutes while Mommy did some shopping. Trust me when I tell you my boys weren't the only ones using these as a sitting/play place.
This is one picture that I figure Uncle Kirby and Uncle Kolby are very proud of. Rylan in his boots sitting on a tractor, not a John Deere, but I am guessing that it will do!

Pay It Forward

When I got home today and checked the mail I had a surprise. My Momma had sent me a package, it was unexpected. I was wondering what could this be? I immediately ripped it open to find the movie New Moon. I have been waiting forever to watch it. I know, I know, another Twilight nerd. That I am, a love story is one I can never resist. Plus Allison sent the first book to me and said, "I am not going to bother you but when you are ready read it please". Well, thank you Allison!
I want to tell you that I love getting mail. I don't know what it is. Maybe because I stay at home, a little surprise like mail makes my day. Well my Momma's unexpected gift got me to thinking, who can I now Pay it Forward to? This is only the second incidence this week where someone has done something kind for me or my family. On Saturday Tyson, Rylan and I went to the Alamodome to watch the Senior Game, Texas Vs. The Nation. Well after Tyson complained about the parking I knew that the tickets were going to be an issue all their own. Well while waiting in line to get tickets a lady came and asked us if we would like free tickets. Well we of course said, "yes". As we were walking to our seats I told Tyson, "Now you know we have to pay it forward". Two times in one week, this must be someone telling me something. I know you are thinking, your Momma sent you mail, big deal,  Momma's do that. Well yes, my Momma does things like that all the time for me. But how often do I do that for others, Pay it Forward?  Being my own family or a stranger, what can I do to brighten someones day?
So I am now on a mission to Pay if Forward just like two people have done for me this week. I will send a family or friend a special gift out of nowhere (just like my New Moon), and I will find a stranger to do something nice for as well. Thank you Momma, woman at the Senior Game, and God for my reminder to do something nice for someone else.

The Big Decision

This has been a question that most of you ask us every time you talk to us. Well we have finally made a decision as to where we will be moving after Tyson finishes residency in July. It has been a much harder process than we ever imagined. We had three awesome places to choose from. The difficulty came because each place was so different than the other two, and yet all three were more than we ever imagined. We realized how many things needed to be thought about before we made a snap decision. Where do we want our children to grow up, will Tyson be happy in his job, does Tyson want to do OB, where will Mommy be happy, where will our children have the oppurtunities we want them to have in life, how far away will family be, will we have health insurance, retirement, can we get student loans repaid, the type of home we would like, etc., etc., etc. When it was all said and done we realized that this big decision was not going to be made on our own. We prayed everyday that God would guide us on this journey, and that he would give us peace and clarity with our deicision. After much prayer, discussion, and more prayer, we feel led to return home to Muleshoe, and serve the community that we grew up in.  We want to thank all of you for your support, understanding and prayer through this difficult decision. We ask that you all continue to pray for us and our big decision.

Olney Christmas

Yes I know that this is a little late. Anyway. This year we went to Aaron & Samantha's house in Olney for our Purdy Christmas. We had a fabulous time with family. Samantha kept us all very well fed, and we all had a relaxing nice weekend together. The best part was watching Rylan and Sophia interact. It was so sweet to see the two of them together. I am sure there were times when Sophia wanted that crazy boy to just slow down, but she never showed it. She would watch him and laugh the whole time. Rylan was surprisingly gentle and very sweet with her. This first picture shows his reaction to her when he first saw her. SO SWEET!
We got there late Friday night. The kids didn't see eachother until Saturday morning and it began with kisses.
After breakfast Saturday morning we all just sat around and let the babies entertain us.
What have we been missing all this time?
When we opened gifts Rylan was very helpful with his cousin. He kept helping Sophia open her gifts.
Sophia got a wagon for Christmas and the two loved just riding around the house in it. When the weekend was all said and done, I think everyone had pushed these two in the wagon.
The two cousins sharing a bath together. Sophia was a great sport while Rylan splashed water all around her.
Throughout the whole weekend who do think enjoyed it the most?
