The Party Decorations

These are the decorations for our transportation themed party!
These were the cupcakes. Aunt Judy and Kyra made these. I made the cupcakes and froze them in advance, and then those two ladies did all the decorating. They turned out perfect, thank you both so much!
We had a Baggage Check, which is where the birthday boy's presents were dropped off. Then we had a Baggage Claim where the kids picked up their party favors.
This was our Baggage Claim area.
This was the sign on the front door welcoming everyone into Rylan's 2nd Birthday!
I stole this idea off of another blog, I thought it was too cute. The bag I found at the thriftstore for $3.99, now Rylan has a bag to take to the airport.
These were STOP lights that were oh so easy. You just take a graham cracker put white frosting on it, and add red, yellow, and a green M&M's for the lights.
These were the fruit cars, which I also stole from another blog. You just use grapes for the wheels, apples and oranges for the car itself and connect with toothpicks.
This was the snack table outside, which was difficult to keep fly free.
The boat on the table is filled with Goldfish, a kid friendly snack.
I made a choo-choo train out of shoe boxes to hold some of the food in. My friend Codie helped me with these, which we both think turned out rather cute. In this box there was race car chocolate covered pretzels.
In this box of the train there were propellar pops. These were so easy (with the help of my sister and mother-in-law). They are just marshmallows dipped in blue chocolate, with a chocolate propellar ontop of that and a colored candy to add the center of the proppelar. The hardest part was making the propellars, which my sister did ever so beautifully.
The last box of the train held a healthy snack, carrots and celery.  All of the activities were fun, and I loved how everything turned out. But next year we may do something a little bit more simple.  Thank you to all of my family who helped, I love you and am so glad to have you in my life.
Our next post won't be until we return home from California. We will visiting Kyra (my sister) and Eric. We have lots planned and can't wait to have a relaxing family vacation (we hope). We leave this Saturday and return home the following the Saturday. We pray for safe travels, fun, sweet family time, and some relaxation!

Rylan's Party

On Saturday we celebrated Rylan's 2nd birthday. We had a party here at the house and we all really enjoyed it. We had a transportation theme, meaning all things that go pretty much; cars, boats, planes, and trains. All of the decoration pictures I will post next. We were very blessed with friends and family who came to celebrate with us. Some of our family came from very far to join us. Uncle Kirby and Nana and Papaw came from Lubbock and Muleshoe. Uncle Derek flew in from Arizona, and Aunt Kyra (Tia) flew in from California. Thank you to all of our dear family and loving friends who came to join us on this day of celebration.
This is Rylan when everyone was singing Happy Birthday to him. I can thank Aunt Judy and Kyra for the beautiful cupcakes!

Happy 2nd Birthday Rylan!

It seems like yesterday that we were headed to the hospital to deliver Rylan. I can't believe that two years have gone by this fast. Parenting is so much more than what I thought it would be. With each day Rylan has brought us more joy, happiness, love, and laughter than he could even know. I try and hold on to every milestone, probably why I take so many pictures. I heard that it would fly by (this parenting thing) but no one tells you how true that is. I only pray that I can savor everyday with this precious little boy who God so sweetly placed in our life.
Rylan you are the greatest gift to your father and I. Our lives have been turned upside down, but in all the greatest ways possible. Your enthusiasm for life is contagious, your independence is admirable (although sometimes challenging), your smile is the sweetest thing we have ever seen, your laugh is so funny we can't help but laugh with you (even when you are in trouble), your hugs are filled with love, and your curiosity is encouraged. I love how you just sit with me on the couch in mornings (we both need time to wake up), and I love how to watch you play and follow your Daddy around (you are his shadow). Happy 2nd Birthday Rylan Charles, we love you so very much.

Landa Park

Landa Park is a place I will miss when we move. Tyson, Rylan and I have spent family time there. Rylan and I have spent many a days there with friends. It is a beautiful park, not far away, and has a lot to do. Today Tyson had a great idea of loading up a picnic and heading to the park. It was a great idea, and a perfect day for it. I will let the pictures explain the rest of the day, and give you an idea as to why it will be missed.
My sweet boy just enjoying the sounds of the park.
Rylan kicking the ball, he and Daddy played for a while.
Me and my boy, I love that smile. That was the smile he wore the whole time we were there!
Rylan looking for fish.
Rylan showing us the fish.
Daddy and Rylan looking at the fish together.
The ducks we fed, it was so cute to see baby ducks.
The conductor of the train we rode. This was probably the highlight. Rylan kept saying, "choo-choo" and "all aboard" the entire ride.
Yes, it was a perfect day for a day at the park!

A Sprinkle

About a month ago my friend Stephanie and I had the honor of hosting a double baby shower. Our two friends Codie and Emily are both expecting their 2nd children within the the next month. The two women are close friends of Stephanie and I. We wanted to do a joint shower (or a "sprinkle" as I am told if it is there second child) to help them welcome their new bundles into this world. They are both expecting little boys! So it made it easy for Steph and I to get a color scheme together; blue, green and a touch of brown.
The pictures below show everything we did as far as decorations go. We went with a sweet theme, so everything was related to something edible that had a sweet taste to it. Let me just tell you that we found lots of goodies and great ideas. We had the shower at my house so it was so fun for me. I have never been a main host for anything, and I loved doing this, especially with a friend for friends!  Emily and Codie I hope that you really enjoyed this day, I know that we enjoyed  doing it for you.
This was the invitation for the shower. So you can see where most of our decorating ideas came from.
This was one of the tables and one of the diaper cakes. The diaper cakes are much easier than they look. The other sweet treats on this table are receiving blanket sundae's, and washcloth lollipops.
This is a look at the other diaper cake.
These were the cupcake onesies.
In this basket were washcloth peppermints and another receiving blanket sundae.
This is a better look at the receiving blanket sundae.
These were the cupcake toppers. I made these to match the tag that was on the invitation, "Heaven sent & oh so sweet!"
These are the tissue balls that I made. Thanks to my sister in law I now know how to make them. However, I don't think that I have mastered them yet.
These were the sock corsages that we had for the Momma's, Grandma's, and Great Grandma's to where.
These are the Momma's To Be (or the Momma's to be again), Emily on the left and Codie on the right.  It was a great day, and it even got me a little excited about what is to come!
