The Big 3-0

Today my sweet husband turns the BIG 3-0. He really doesn't look it, but yes Tyson is 30 today. In his 30 years he really has accomplished a lot. I am so proud of him and all that he has. He has worked hard and he still doesn't look a day over 21 (I may be a little jealous). He is a great family medicine doctor, a wonderful husband, a fantastic dad, and a christian example for our children.

Tyson we love you so very much and we hope that we can make
your 30th as special to you as you are to us.

Go Red Raiders

As most of you know Tyson is a big football fan, and a huge Red Raiders fan. So we have been fortunate enough to attend a few games this year. Tyson loves it, it gets me all fired up, and Rylan is obsessed with the Red Raiders. The boy plays football everyday, loves to watch it on TV, and talks about it all the time. Can you guess what Rylan will be for Halloween?

We went to the K State Vs. Texas Tech game which was a great game, but in the end we fell short and lost. However, by watching Rylan and his enthusiasm you would have thought that we won by a long shot. He yells when the crowd yells, claps when the crowd claps, and loves to say "Go Red Raiders".
By the time kick off rolled around Rylan was already in full throttle.
Notice the man holding Rylan. Where do you think his love of football and the Red Raiders comes from?
We didn't get to see the Masked Rider this game but even better we got to see Raider Red. We were super lucky to have the great seats we had, third row (Thanks to Tia). So, we were close enough for Rylan to shake Raider Reds hand.
Every time Raider Red came around after that Rylan would yell, "I touch him Momma". He is one huge Texas Tech football fan.
The only question is what will we do when the spring rolls around and there isn't any football. I bet I know a Spurs fan who can show Rylan how to really cheer on a team!

The Pumpkin Patch

Last Friday we went to a pumpkin patch in Clovis, NM. For those of you who don't realize this, Clovis is the closest town with a Wal-Mart. So we visit Clovis very frequently. This time along with a Wal-Mart trip we were able to find a pumpkin patch, The Davis Farm Pumpkin Patch. This was a great little adventure with many perks that we all loved and enjoyed. This particular pumpkin patch was actually on a farm, which got us all in that Fall Mood, and offered a few surprises you may not find at any other pumpkin patch. I will allow the pictures to do the explaining.
They had three mazes for us and Rylan to go through, and three others that were more challenging for adults. We just did the small three, and each one was more challenging than the one before it. The first one was just a simple one with pumpkins, it was cute and easy.
The second one was with hay bails. We could still see our way through this one, however it was a right turn only maze. Rylan loved it and after we were done he did it two more times, surprisingly all on his very own.
The third was a bit more challenging with large hay bails (that we could not see over). We let Rylan lead the way, and he did a pretty good job.
Our boy was all smiles the whole time we were there. He would stop and pose for any picture his Mommy (camera crazy lady) wanted to take. I was grateful and I really got some cute pictures of our boy.
There was a large tower of pumpkins and hay bails that hid some stairs. You could go inside and up the stairs and look out over the entire Davis Farm. Up at the top is where we spotted the tractor. Of course we would take a tractor ride. Rylan really has a thing for tractors, anywhere we go he is pointing them out and saying, "Twactors, look Momma".
After going through the mazes and looking out over the farm we sat down for the pumpkin toss. Yes, I said a pumpkin toss. I will explain that in a minute. Like I said things you wouldn't see at just any pumpkin patch.
Who knew that we would top off this pumpkin patch with yet another one of Rylan's favorite things. Horses. While waiting for the pumpkin toss a lady and gentlemen rode up on two horses. Rylan immediately began telling us about them, and the gentlemen insisted that he get on one. But Rylan insisted that, "Daddy and Ylan get on horsey, both". This meant he wanted Daddy up there too. Something that we all learned, is horses love to eat pumpkins, who knew?
This was one of the two devices they used to toss pumpkins. They really did fly, what a creative idea.
Rylan and Tia searching for the perfect pumpkin.

Rylan, Tia, and Mommy took a hay/tractor ride to go pick out our pumpkins. Daddy didn't go because he has allergies pretty bad, and we drove right through a hay field. It was a good ride, a little bumpy at times (actually surprised I didn't go into early labor), but still it was a funny ride. Rylan loved it, and he was so cute the way he held onto my hand the whole time. It made me think, okay he still does need me. I often times need a reminder, since he tells me so often "Momma I do it".
If ever you are in Clovis and have time visit Davis Farms Pumpkin Patch.

My Hat

No matter what I am feeling like I can always rely on Rylan for a good laugh. Maybe it is because I am his mother, but just about anything he does he can get a laugh out of me. This hat has been with Rylan for almost a year. Within the last 3 months not a day has gone by that he doesn't put this hat on (usually with his boots) and plays "Cowboy". Some days Momma just needs a pick me up, and this boy does it for me.

Twice Blessed

With our sweet Reesey Cup due to join our family in 6 weeks, I can't help but feel the need to eat up all of my sweet Ry that I can. I am trying to prepare myself, Tyson, and especially Rylan for the arrival of our girl! I am guessing that this is normal, but there are days that I can't help but feel sad about losing the precious one-on-one time that Rylan and I get everyday. I am sad and scared about the feelings that will rush over his little 2 1/2 year old mind and body when his new little sister gets here. I just pray that all four of us will adjust smoothly, especially my Rylan.
For in this season in my life I repeatedly refer to Proverbs 31:28 "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."  After a very sweet moment the other night I realized what this verse meant. Our family is growing, it pleases all three of us and it especially pleases God. As I may feel nervous, scared, excited, happy, and overwhelmed this verse reminded me that being a Momma is what I do, having an awesome man to share my life/parenting with is ever so sweet, and having both together is going to be the icing on the cake.
The sweet moment; As we sat on the couch (Tyson, Rylan and I), we began asking Rylan questions about his sister. Did he know where she was? He pointed to my belly and replied "My baby sista". We then asked are you excited to meet her? His response, "Yeeees, Hi Weese". Then out of nowhere he started talking to his sister (my large belly), and then the moment Daddy and I had been waiting for...... a kiss. We actually had the camera on hand, so this sweet moment was captured. This overjoyed our hearts! After this I am now so ready to see Rylan as a big brother. This journey of parenting more than one will be a challenge, however this is a challenge from God and we accept. We will soon be Twice Blessed (a book by Joan Leonard that we are reading to prepare for a second child).
